Spring Seedling Sale!

COME ON UP to Mildreds' Daughters Farm for a spring seedling sale - featuring more than 40 varieties of heirloom tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, herb, and vegetable seedlings. The farm is located at 1100 Normahill Drive in Stanton Heights. The sale happens the last three weekends in May:

Fridays, 5-8 P.M., May 15, 22, & 29
Saturdays, 8 A.M.-1 P.M., May 16, 23, & 30

Backyard Composting Workshop

Dreaming about your garden? You can start composting way before it’s time to plant. Sign up for a backyard composting class and get ready for spring! This workshop covers the importance of composting, setting up a compost pile, proper maintenance, and ways of using finished compost. Participants will receive an Earth Machine Compost Bin with attendance. This bin, approved across the state as an ideal bin for urban and suburban areas, has an 80-gallon capacity, and a $160 value.

Workshop cost: $40 Single/$50 Couple (includes one compost unit per registration).

Place: East End Food Co-op, Point Breeze. 

Date: Thursday, May 7, from 6:30-8:15 p.m.

Farmer's Market

The Garfield Farms and Urban Farming Initiative will be at the Local Farmer's Market hosted by Whole Foods Market on Wednesday, October 15, from 4 - 7 p.m. Stop by and enjoy some locally grown produce.
