Black Street Community Clean-Up

Garfield Jubilee's Youthbuild program is hosting "Black Street Community Clean-Up Day."

When: Saturday, June 21, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.
Where: Meet at Valley View Church, located at Black Street and N. Aiken Ave.

Volunteers are needed to assist with the transformation of Black Street. Food and beverages will be provided, and there will be activities and face-painting for the kids. Come and help out!

CTAC Trainings

The Community Technical Assistance Center (CTAC) is offering a series of seminars this fall and winter to sharpen the skills required to build and operate an effective community-based organization in southwestern Pennsylvania. Classes are open to both staff and board members.

Programs begin at 4 p.m. and end at 6:30 p.m. Light refreshments are served. The program is held at CTAC's training facility, Allegheny Court, 901 Western Avenue, on the North Side. The seminars are led by skilled professional trainers from corporate and consulting circles.

Classes are as follows:

October 2: Leadership Skills
October 16: Basic Board 1: Structure & By-laws
October 30: Basic Board 2: Roles & Responsibilities
November 13: Effective Meetings
January 8: Communication Skills
January 22: Strategic Planning
February 5: Financial Management
February 19: Fundraising
