Porches Needed!

August 4 is National Night Out, a chance for our community to celebrate its ownership of the streets. In addition to encouraging everyone to leave their porch lights on throughout the night, Friendship has traditionally had a few porch parties. If a handful of neighbors volunteer to host porch gatherings (with chips, soda, etc.), Friendship Preservation Group's communications committee will create a map and help spread the word. If you're interested in hosting a National Night Out Porch Party, please send your name and address to communications@friendship-pgh.org.

It's National Night Out!

August 7 is National Night Out (NNO) - "America's Night Out Against Crime" - and two of our neighborhoods are having events this evening to draw attention to public safety and crime prevention.
In Friendship, there will be 11 porch parties from 6 to 9 p.m., with giveaways like high-efficiency light bulbs and lighted key chains. Start the evening at 5432 and 5434 Penn Avenue, where maps to the rest of the participating houses will be available. Other porches are located on S. Fairmount, Roup, S. Aiken, and other streets throughout the neighborhood. (Sponsored by Friendship Preservation Group.)

In Lawrenceville, an NNO cookout will be held on Lawrenceville United's front patio, 4825 Butler Street, at 6:30 p.m. (Sponsored by LU - call 412-802-7220 for more info.)

Come show you care about public safety!
