"I Will Stay If..."

On Thursday, September 17, from 6 to 9 p.m., GLUE (Great Lakes Urban Exchange) invites you to join community members and leaders at the Shadow Lounge, 5972 Baum Boulevard, in a conversation about what makes a city sustainable, the continuing issues and challenges facing the city, and the new developments that are putting Pittsburgh on the map. What will make YOU stay? What IS making you stay? We want to know! GLUE was founded by a Pittsburgher and a Detroiter to catalyze conversations across Rust Belt communities about (among other things) the loss of population and sustainable economic activity.

While in many ways Pittsburgh has become a symbol of both renewal and stability in some very unstable times, we continue to struggle with the realities of population loss and the multiplicity of living experiences among Pittsburghers. We believe the future of our community will be our ability to respond to population decline and quality of life issues, to work for change and to support the many changes already in place.

Please join us for light refreshments and entertainment by local businesses, the opportunity to speak to community leaders and many organizations, and to participate in the "I Will Stay If" (IWSI) documentary project with acclaimed local artists. $5 suggested donations are welcome at the door. Visit http://www.gluespace.org/ for more information on GLUE and the IWSI series of events. For donor, organization, and event information, contact iwsipgh@gmail.com.
